THIS IS ME.
I am…
a
God-fearing woman, who stands firm for what I believe in.
I am 21
years young, and I am from the city Krugersdorp. I am hardworking, determined,
loving, caring, kind and believes that a positive mindset leads to positive
actions.
As an
18-year-old, during my matric year the fear of ‘’what am I going to pursue one
day in my life’’ came across my mind multiple times… A feeling of uncertainty came
across me every time I think about my future. So, I decided to do a gap year
course at Equilibria in Potchefstroom, and it changed my life for the better. Equilibria
was the place where I found my passion, my calling on my life, which is TEACHING.
I always
said to my mom, that I am never going to be a teacher, because we are four
children in the house, but my perspective changed 360o. I want to be
a Foundation Phase Teacher because I do not only want to teach the children
about subjects, content and context, but I want to serve as a mentor, guider,
carer and as a safe environment for the children. My dream is to be a Remedial
Teacher, because I have an enormous love and heart for children with special
needs, and I want to make a change in their lives.
I have a passion
to make positive changes in people’s lives and to help/care for people. Peace
is where the nature is, and that is why I have a big passion and love for the
nature, whether it is at the beach, wild or on a farm. Spending time with
family and friends is the most precious moments for me, that I will always
cherish. In these challenging times we find ourselves, I came to the realisation
that our time with loved ones is unpredictable…
An overwhelming
but excited feeling came across me this second semester, as I have no idea what
this semester and the unknown holds in for me, and the anxiety if I will get
done with the work on time. I am excited for the module LSKM 221, as I played
the old traditional flute, guitar, and transverse flute, and hope that this
module will bring back my passion for playing instruments again.
Music plays
a vital role in children’s and adolescent’s lives. Music is a very essential and
beneficial aspect to the development of children, and it can also be extremely
useful in a teacher’s classroom. I believe that I will learn how to incorporate
music into teaching and children’s lives in a positive way and that I will find
my passion for music again.
I am Tené Carney
Hi Tene, I really enjoyed reading your post. I love how your strong personality shines through your post. I am also one of four children and I felt the same way about teaching at first, I can really relate to you through out this whole blog. Family will always be the most important thing, especially when you grew up in a big household with family always around you.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your next blog.
